Business Development Director IPM & Pollination Solutions

Biobest Group is a leading company in the biological control of pests and diseases and bumblebee pollination. We work together with our subsidiaries and partners worldwide to promote a broad range of IPM and Pollination solutions to our customers. Our ambition is to continue our strong growth for the next years.

Today we are welcoming a Business Development Director, who is passionate about sustainable agriculture, to lead the Group IPM & Pollination Department at Biobest headquarters in Westerlo.

Your mission

As Business Development Director you contribute to the growth of Biobest Group. You manage the IPM & Pollination portfolio together with a strong established team of energetic and market savvy professionals. To further expand and improve the solutions portfolio, you also promote and coordinate the development of innovations through the Stage Gate Process. You will report to the Chief Technology Officer and are member of the Group Executive Committee.

Market intelligence

You identify possibilities for market expansion and unmet customer needs.

Product Innovation Management

You expand and improve the IPM & Pollination portfolio:

  • You coordinate the development of new or improved solutions via the Stage Gate method.
  • You collaborate with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Legal departments.
  • You organize Project Portfolio and Stage Gate meetings and report back on progress.
  • You coordinate and promote the market launch of new or improved products and services for the development of new solutions.

Marketing Communication

You coordinate the promotion of Biobest Group, our products, and services.

What do we expect from you?

  • You have a background in Agro-science, Bio-engineering or other relevant discipline and you are passionate about sustainable agriculture.
  • Excellent portfolio and project management skills. You have strong experience with the use of Stage Gate and innovation management processes.
  • International business development experience in agriculture is required.
  • You demonstrate sound strategic thinking and the ability to identify, prioritize and resolve key project and partnership issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, engage, focus, negotiate, and resolve.
  • Strong influencing and management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, proactively and with agility in a complex, matrixed environment, building internal and external alignment, influencing key stakeholders.
  • You are fluent in English.
  • You are prepared to travel on a regular basis.
