Demand & Supply Chain Planning Analyst

At Biobest's head office in Westerlo, we breed bumblebees, mites and beneficial insects, or we buy crop protection products for processing and packaging. We transport our products and animals to growers in more than 60 countries. Here they are used in our customers' crops, where they do a good job of keeping them healthy in a sustainable way.

In our special and challenging Supply Chain, where living products have a short shelf life and are transported under conditioned transport, demand and material planning are of great importance. To help these planning processes flourish, we are looking for a Demand & Supply Chain Planning Analyst with a strong focus and good overview.

The job

As a Demand & Supply Chain Planning Analyst, you will join the Purchase & Material Planning team and work closely with other departments such as our own cultivation departments, packaging department, S&OP team, and Customer Service, as well as with our external suppliers. The Purchase & Material Planning team is responsible for the purchasing, material planning and internal communication around the availability of live products and related products. Your responsibilities:

You are responsible for the demand/planning for the local and international market.
You manage the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) settings, forecast data and replenishment strategy of a specified item package.
In addition, you will take care of the purchasing and packaging planning and work closely with your colleagues to ensure timely availability of products.
You ensure a correct allocation of the available stock to the customer orders.
You also ensure smooth, efficient and customer-friendly communication for everything related to planning and purchasing processes.
You monitor changes and identify supply chain risks or challenges.
You participate in optimizations of new and current systems and processes.
You represent the department in meetings or lead it depending on the theme.
You work on analyses; reports and you follow KPIs.
You act as a backup of your colleagues (purchasing and planning).

Your profile

You have a bachelor's or master's degree in business economics.
You can look back on a solid experience within planning and/or purchasing, preferably in a production environment.
You are flexible, positive and deadlines do not scare you.
You are strong in data analysis.
You will understand the basics of stock management, MRP, logistics and Supply Chain.
Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) is a plus.
You are fluent with Excel, and you have good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
You speak and write fluently in Dutch and English.
You are a team player who can be relied on in times when backup of colleagues is needed
You are willing to participate in a permanence rotation in the weekend (+/- 1x per month) and are willing to work regularly (+/- 2x per week) in the "morning" shift (start 7 am).
