Commercial plant biostimulants contain substances, such as glycine betaine, or microorganisms, and are applied to plants to enhance abiotic stress tolerance and/or quality traits, or to improve nutrition efficiency.

Abiotic challenges to overcome

Abiotic stresses are environmental factors that impact plants’ growth and development, such as drought, temperature and salinity. 

These abiotic stresses ultimately have a negative impact on crop quality and yield.
