Sales & Market Developer Biopesticides




Biobest has been a pioneer in natural pollination since 1987, with bumblebee production as its foundation. Over the years, we have grown into a leading company in the biological control of diseases and pests. However, our ambitions extend further. The future growth of our company lies in the development, marketing, and sales of biopesticides in agriculture and horticulture.

To strengthen this growth, we are looking for an experienced Sales & Market Developer who can establish and execute a robust go-to-market strategy for the biopesticides portfolio in the Belgian market.

Your Responsibilities

As a Sales & Market Developer, you are responsible for the sales and market expansion of our biological crop protection products in Belgium. Your main focus is on developing and implementing an effective market approach, forming partnerships, and maximizing revenue and profit growth. In this role, you will:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify and evaluate potential distribution channels, partners, and key players in the Belgian agriculture and horticulture industry.
  • Assess key market trends and the competitive landscape to optimize sales strategies.
  • Present and demonstrate the biopesticides portfolio to potential and existing customers, and further expand our product offerings to new markets within Belgium.
  • Participate in relevant trade shows, events, and networking meetings to identify new opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring effective communication, support, and alignment with Biobest's objectives.
  • Provide direct support to the Belgian team of Crop Specialists and specialists from our distribution channels.
  • Lead negotiations, close deals, and manage contracts with customers (distributors and key accounts) in collaboration with the Area Manager.
  • Actively gather customer feedback and relay it to the Area Manager, the R&D team, and the Product Managers.
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to the company's revenue growth.
  • Report to the Area Manager.

What Do We Expect from You and Why Do You Fit into the Team?

  • A higher degree in Agro- or Biotechnology, Biological or Bio-Engineering Sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of and experience with technical sales in agribusiness. Specific experience with biopesticides (and/or biostimulants/bio-fertilizers) is a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to analyze sales and market data and develop market strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, perseverance, and a flexible attitude. Able to make decisions independently.
  • Excellent command of Dutch. Knowledge of French is a plus.
