Demand & Supply Chain Planning Analyst
At Biobest HQ in Westerlo, we breed bumblebees, mites, and beneficial insects, or we process crop protection products to package them. We transport our products and insects to growers in more than 60 countries. These are deployed in our customers' crops, where they do excellent work to keep the crops healthy in a sustainable way.
In our unique and challenging Supply Chain, where living products have a short shelf life and are transported under very specific conditions, demand and material planning is of key importance. To further ensure our successful planning processes, we are looking for a Demand & Supply Chain Planning Analyst with strong focus and good oversight.
The job
As a Demand & Supply Chain Planning Analyst, you will become a member of the Purchase & Material Planning team and work closely with other departments such as Operations and Customer Service. The team is responsible for purchasing, material planning, and internal communication regarding the availability of living products. Summed up this means:
- You are responsible for the demand/planning for the local and international market.
- You manage the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) settings, forecast data, and replenishment strategy for an assigned product portfolio.
- You take care of the purchasing and packaging planning and work closely with your colleagues to ensure timely product availability.
- You ensure the correct allocation of available stock to customer orders.
- You also guarantee smooth, efficient, and customer-friendly communication regarding all planning and procurement processes.
- You monitor changes and identify supply chain risks or challenges.
- You participate in the optimization of new and existing systems and processes.
- You represent the department in meetings or lead them depending on the topic.
- You work on analyses, reports, and monitor KPIs.
- You serve as backup for your colleagues (procurement and planning).
Your profile
- You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a business-related field.
- You have solid experience in planning and/or procurement, preferably in a production environment.
- You are flexible, positive, and not afraid of deadlines.
- You are strong in data analysis.
- You understand the basic principles of stock management, MRP, logistics, and Supply Chain. Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) is a plus.
- You are proficient with Excel and have a good command of Microsoft Office.
- You speak and write fluently in Dutch and English.
- You are a reliable team player who can be trusted when backup for colleagues is needed.
- You are willing to participate in an on-call rotation over the weekend (+/- once a month) and regularly work the early shift (+/- twice a week, starting at 7 a.m.).
