XenTari® WG

Bacillus thuringiensis var. aizawai (XenTari® WG)

XenTari® is a biological insecticide based on spores of the bacteria Bacillus thuringiensis var. aizawai It works against several species of butterfly and moth caterpillars. Infected caterpillars move slowly, change colour and shrivel. They die 2 to 5 days after intake of the bacteria. Dead specimens hang with their hind legs still attached to leaves.

  • Greenhouse cultures of cucumbers, sweet peppers and tomatoes, for the control of caterpillars: more specifically turkey moth caterpillars (Chrysodeixis chalcites).
  • Cabbage cultures, for the control of caterpillars (e.g. the white butterfly (Pieris spp.), cabbage moth (plutella xylostella) and others like Evergestis spp.
  • Lettuce crops
